Homestay Program Overview

Looking for your next cultural exchange journey? No matter if you're an individual or group organizer, you can arrange your next Chinese trip with SAE Homestay. Share your language and culture through teaching in a homestay, spend some time with your host family, and experience authentic Chinese culture.

Au Pair Program
Au Pair Program is a great chance to know what real China looks like, what ordinary Chinese people's lives are and how splendid the culture of this country is. Participants spend 25 - 30 hours per week tutoring the host family English to improve their language skills, taking care of the kids and helping with simple house chores in exchange for a single room, meals and all the necessities. Au pairs get $100 pocket money per week and about 20 hours Mandarin courses every month.
Vacation Language Buddy Program
Vacation Language Buddy Program is a volunteer teaching placement designed for deep cultural immersion and exchange. This program is ideal for gap year students hoping to live with a local Chinese family to improve their Mandarin and understand local cultures, adults hoping to get their feet wet in teaching, teachers planning to travel during their summer break, or travelers seeking to experience full cultural immersion while teaching English abroad. Participants spend 15 hours per week tutoring the host family English to improve their language skills.
Language Buddy Program
Explore the countless heritages and cultural landmarks in China during your homestay in a local family. Language Buddy pro­gram is a great chance to know what real China looks like, what ordinary Chinese people's lives are and how splendid the culture of this country is. Come and see for yourself! Participants spend 5 hours per week tutoring the host family English to improve their language skills in exchange for a single room, breakfast and all the necessities. We accept language buddies all year round. No matter you are here to study, work or travel, we will always find you a perfect host family and you can stay with the family from 2 weeks to several months.
