Private School Option
AYP students and their parent(s)/legal guardian(s) are required to indicate whether they are willing to consider private schools in the USA in case the student is not able to be placed in a public school by the end of the summer. If private schools are considered as a backup plan, the students and their parent(s)/legal guardian(s) need to choose the tier of private schools they intend to consider.

This is your chance to tell your prospective host family about yourself in a letter. Incorporate your answers to the questions below in order to communicate who you are and your motivations for going abroad with our agency. Please write your letter in English. Your letter should be approximately two pages long. Keep in mind that this will be the first impression your host family has of you. Therefore, type or print legibly in black ink. Please include your letter with this application. 1. How would your family and friends describe your personality? 2. How would you describe your relationship with your family and friends? For example, how are you different from your brother/sister/friends? What is your role in the family? In what types of situations do you seek advice from your parents? 3. What activities do you participate in, in your community (For example: school, sports, community activities)? What is important to you? 4. Why should a family choose to host you? Explain what makes you unique and a good addition to a family and community? 5. What part of your daily life do you find frustrating or difficult? 6. Thank you for applying for our SAE exchange student program. By signing your name, the applicant understands, acknowledges, and accepts the following promises, covenants, or obligations: 1. Self-Evaluation. Student is required to conduct self-evaluation in, but not limited to, the following aspects: 1) English ability: can follow the classes, daily school and family life in the United States. 2) Maturity, independence, self-disciplined and following the rules. 3) Physical and mental health: be in good condition for study abroad. 4) Complete medical immunization record: get it ready. It is required by US school at registration time according to requirement of the United States Department of State (“USDOS”). 5) Good behaviors in general, no criminal history and misdemeanor records in the past. 2. Application. Student must provide accurate and truthful information and/or support documents in student application. Inaccurate and untruthful information and/or documents will lead to denial of the student by SAE, US school, US embassy, and USDOS. 3. Area and School. It is required for the student to decide at this application time and to fill it in the application: 1) For the student applying for J1 Program: choose a SAE program between Selecting Area and Non-Selecting Area, and the five (5) areas for the Selecting Area program. 2) For the student applying for F1 Program: agree to choose a private high school from the schools list to be provided by SAE. 4. Skype Interview: SAE will conduct a Skype interview to the student. The schedule will be posted to the student within five (5) calendar days after the student’s application is received. Student must accept within twenty-four (24) hours one of skype interview schedules. 5. English Tests: Designated English tests could be required by SAE or American school. If so, student shall pay for it. 6. Approval Process: After skype interview and no any additional requirement pending, the student will know SAE’s approval decision within five (5) calendar days after the skype interview.
I understand that host countries may not be able to accommodate the restrictions or requirements indicated in the completed application and that acceptance into our agency program is not a guarantee that these preferences can be honored.
